The film In Bruges 2008 is a fabulous film. It is a must see movie. It is a dark comedy full of twists and turns. It is both riveting and engaging. The dark humour in it is just that, dark. If you like that sort of humour, this is an excellent film for you. It had me laughing hysterically. There are of course purely morbid parts portrayed as horrific events, as well they should be.
The setting of the film literally set “In Bruges” is magnificent and “fairytale like” (a line used by three film characters).
The actors are out of this world. Whomever cast this film knew the script well enough to get these top notch people. Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes, Zeljko Ivanek, along with the rest of the cast, help spin a tale that is captivating. I highly recommend it.
I also enjoyed this film. My favorite is the partnership between the two spies. I think it is a great film to show just having two conflicting characters with the same goal just struggle with each other. It was fantastic.
Any other films you recommend?
Hi Alberto, I agree! I highly recommend “Incendies”. It was nominated for Best Foreign film at the Academy Awards. I also enjoyed “The King’s Speech”, though completely different. Barney’s Version was engaging.
I saw “The King’s Speech.” It was a fantastic film. I easily related to it. Not because of the stutter but because it a person trying to overcome their own faults and insecurities. I felt it was extremely engaging for it being a movie with about 3 characters. I think I could have seen it as a play. It definitely felt like it.
Yes, it was a play, & now that you mention it, it really does seem like a theatrical film. I also agree, one can identify with trying to overcome one’s own faults & insecurities through it. You are also right in that it was amazing that those 3 characters carried us, the audience all the way through it.
